Abstract: This report summarizes federal financial support for the arts, humanities, and museums, provided through the National Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities. It provides background information, funding information, and explores some issues involving selected arts and humanities-related programs, including the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), and the Office of Museum Services within the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). Funding information is also provided for the Smithsonian and some selected additional programs, including the Arts in Education program.
