Abstract: After declining in numbers for two years, the numbers of mergers and acquisitions worldwide is expected to begin an upswing in 2003 as more firms restructure. This report provides a listing of the largest mergers (announced value of at least $2 billion) or acquisitions during 2003. Completion dates for the mergers or acquisitions are included and merger or acquisition failures noted.
