Abstract: On June 18, 2008, the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008 (P.L. 110- 246, the 2008 farm bill) became law when the House and Senate voted to override President Bush's veto of H.R. 6124.1 Enactment of the new law suspends the provisions of permanent law that would have taken effect without a new law.
