Abstract: For FY2008, Congress provided just under $7.9 billion for the child welfare programs described in this report (P.L. 110-161). For FY2009, both the President's budget request and the Senate Appropriations Committee (S. 3230, accompanied by S.Rept. 110-410 and S. 3182, accompanied by S.Rept. 110-397) have proposed similar funding.
