Abstract: On July 19, 2007, the Senate Finance Committee marked up the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2007 (S. 1893/H.R. 976). The Senate struck the language in an unrelated House-passed tax measure (H.R. 976) and replaced it with the language contained in S. 1893, as approved by the Senate Finance Committee. A total of 92 amendments were offered, with 9 adopted. The bill passed the Senate on August 2, 2007. This report provides a summary of the bill as passed in the Senate.
