Title: The HUD Homeless Assistance Grants: Distribution of Funds

Abstract: In the 110th Congress, bill have been introduced in both the House and the Senate that would reauthorize the homeless assistance grants and change some aspects of how they are distributed. The Community Partnership to End Homelessness Act (S. 1518) was approved by the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee on September 19, 2007. In the House, the Financial Services Committee approved the Homeless Emergency Assistance and Rapid Transition to Housing (HEARTH) Act (H.R. 840) on July 31, 2008.
