Abstract: This report considers population change and the underlying factors that contribute to population growth in the United States. These include increasing survival due to declining mortality rates (especially for the three most prevalent causes of death), fertility levels that are hovering around the generational "replacement" level, and trends in net international migration wherein more migrants move into the United States than Americans who leave.
