Title: European Union-United States: Financial Services Action Plan's Regulatory Reform Issues

Abstract: This report provides an examination of some of the regulatory issues surrounding the most important of the EU's financial services directives from the EU and the U.S. perspectives, using the same basic format for each directive. The report also examines two new additional financial services standards - the International Accounting Standards and the Basel II Capital Accord - that are to be adopted in conjunction with the FSAP.
