Abstract: The most recent legislative development on the implementation of a new personnel system at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is that H.R. 1684, DHS Authorization Act for FY2008, as ordered to be reported by the House Committee on Homeland Security on March 28,2007, would repeal the authority for that system. The bill is expected to be considered by the House in early May 2007.
