Abstract: House rules require action to approve resolutions providing funds for committee operations by the end of March 2003. Because of unforeseen delays, the House twice agreed to short-term extensions of current committee funding levels. House and Senate standing and select committees receive their operating budgets through House and Senate approval of biennial funding resolutions. Each house may also approve supplementary resolutions to meet unanticipated committee costs.
