Abstract: This report examines selected labor market, social, and demographic characteristics of the agricultural labor force in the United States for each year from 1996 through 2001. The analysis examines differences among native-born, foreign-born, and Mexican-born workers. The characteristics examines include age, education, earnings, occupation, union membership, weeks worked per year, poverty status, and health insurance coverage. The report analyzes data on wage and salary workers in both the agriculture industry and for all industries combined.
