Abstract: On July 19, 2002, the Senate Appropriations Committee reported S. 2778 (S. Rept. 107-218) and proposed a total of $3.35 billion in appropriations for NOAA. On August 8, 2002, the Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act for 2002 was enacted into law (P.L. 107-206), providing NOAA $33.5 million in funding for homeland security and other emergency-related expenditures. Also, that Act rescinded $8.1 million from other FY2002 appropriations for NOAA.
