Abstract: The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 authorizes multiple programs that support vocational rehabilitation services to help individuals with physical and mental disabilities become employable and achieve independence. This report summarizes major provisions of the 1998 reauthorization legislation. Other legislation affecting Rehabilitation Act programs includes the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Improvement Act of 1999 (P.L. 106-170).
