Abstract: This report examines legislation pertaining to airline consumer protection in the 107th Congress. It summarizes legislation proposed in the 106th Congress and the airlines' response. It examines the findings of the Department of Transportation Inspector General's February 13, 1001 report on airline customer service. It discusses the legislative remedies proposed in the 107th Congress. Finally, a side-by-side presentation of provisions from six airline passenger rights bills is set forth.
