Abstract: This paper makes observations about the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other organized interest groups in U.S. policy toward China over the last decade and provides information about selected NGOs. It presents an overview of issue trends in U.S. China policy during the Bush and Clinton Administrations, and discusses the role of interest groups generally on major issues and policies relating to China during this period, drawing overall conclusions based on these observations. Finally, the report provides pertinent information about selected groups.
