Abstract: This report focuses on the question of Kosovo's future status after the immediate crisis is ended. It looks at broader U.S. interests which may be at stake in any Kosovo settlement and against which Congress is likely to judge any outcome. It presents alternative long-term solutions that have been suggested for Kosovo and looks at possible strengths and weaknesses of each model, in light of historical experiences with each.
